How it Works

Step 1. Get connected & register

Maybe your friend told you about us, maybe you saw us in the classifieds of The Orinda News December 2010 edition, or perhaps you found one of these fancy cards on a board in your community.

Either way you took the time to take a look and now know where to go when you need a babysitter.  Contact Vicki, the community coordinator via email to register or find out more.  During registration you will have the opportunity to tell her about your family, what type of babysitter you and your kids love and the hourly rate that fits your family's budget.

Step 2.  Have a childcare need

Your favorite band is in town, planned childcare fell through, or maybe you just want to go shopping without the little one in tow.  Call, email or text the community coordinator and she will find the sitter who is most available.  Last minute jobs (less than 24 hours notice) are always worth the asking and we will do whatever we can to accommodate them.

Step 3.  Confirmation of a gig

You will receive an email from the community coordinator with a bio about your new sitter.  The sitter will contact you directly to introduce herself, confirm the gig and answer any questions you might have.  Booking fees are due at this time.  You will pay the sitter directly the hourly rate at the time of the gig.

Step 4.  Feedback after the gig

The community coordinator will contact you regarding your and your children's experience.  At this time feedback will be sought and used to build sitters files and for learning opportunities.

Step 5.  Using the service again

As long as your sitter was a match for your family, she will be your number one sitter the next time you are in need.  If she is unavailable, then the community coordinator will find the next available sitter from the collective for you.  As our team grows and we add more sitters you will be notified and e-troduced to them.
